Scott Dr. Scott Bailey

Dr. Bailey was born in West Virginia. He completed his undergraduate work at Concord College and graduated with his medical degree from West Virginia University. He completed his pediatric residency at Duke University Medical Center. He joined Burlington Pediatrics in 2005. Dr. Bailey and his wife Amy have two children. Their family interests include traveling and outdoor activities.

Kent Dr. Kent Bonney

Dr. Bonney was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Duke University and Temple University School of Medicine, and completed his pediatric residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. He received the Meritorious Service Medal as a pediatrician in the U.S. Army. He directed the National Capital Asthma Program and completed a one-year fellowship in Neonatology. His special interests are newborn medicine and pediatric asthma. He joined the practice in 1998. Dr. Bonney and his wife Pam have twin daughters and one son. They enjoy golf, music, and outdoor activities.

Yun Dr. Yun Boylston

Dr. Boylston grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and completed her medical degree and pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She has experience as an editorial staff member of Pediatrics, the journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She joined Burlington Pediatrics in 2009. Dr. Boylston and her husband Brian have three children. Their interests include taking road trips and outdoor activities.

Hillary Dr. Hillary Carroll

Dr. Carroll was raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. She graduated from Wake Forest University and from Bowman Gray School of Medicine. She completed her residency training at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she also served as Chief Resident. She joined Burlington Pediatrics in 1991. Dr. Carroll and her husband Paul have two daughters. Their interests include family and church activities and water sports.

David Dr. David Johnson

Dr. Johnson was born and raised in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He received his undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee School of Medicine, where he was selected as a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. His pediatric training was completed at Children's Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham. He joined the practice in 1981. He received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1991 from Children's Hospital. Dr. Johnson and his wife Becky have three daughters and one grandchild. Their interests include family activities and sports.

David Dr. David Mertz

Dr. Mertz was born in Hawaii. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and his medical degree from the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. He completed his pediatric residency at Duke University Medical Center. He taught school for several years prior to attending medical school, including some time in South America. He is fluent in Spanish. He joined Burlington Pediatrics in 1999. Dr. Mertz and his wife Michelle have two sons. They enjoy theater and church activities.

Karin Dr. Karin Minter

Dr. Minter was born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut. She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University before moving south for her medical training. Dr. Minter graduated from Duke University School of Medicine. She stayed at Duke for her residency training in Pediatrics, where she also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Minter has a Master's Degree in Public Health in the field of Maternal and Child Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She joined Burlington Pediatrics in 2006. Dr. Minter and her husband Kevin enjoy traveling and outdoor activities.

Kristen Dr. Kristen Moffitt

Dr. Moffitt was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She received her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Moffitt joined Burlington Pediatrics in 1989. She has a special interest in adolescent medicine. Dr. Moffitt and her husband, Scott, have three sons. Their interests include church and family activities.

Charles Dr. Charles Scott

Dr. Scott grew up in the Hawfields area and founded Burlington Pediatrics in 1971. He attended Woodberry Forest School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his pediatric training at the University of Florida. Dr. Scott is certified in the treatment of adolescent drug and alcohol abuse. He is a strong advocate for the children of Alamance County and has treated two generations of families in Burlington and Mebane. Dr. Scott and his wife, Sandy, have one son and one daughter, as well as three grandchildren. They enjoy traveling, golf, and family activities.

Trevor Mr. Trevor Downs

Trevor Downs was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. He earned his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and a Master's degree from the University of Maryland. He joined Burlington Pediatrics in 1998 after completing his pediatric Physician Assistant training at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver. Trevor provides both routine well-child and acute illness care. He loves to travel and has lived abroad in Argentina and Spain; moreover, he is fluent in Spanish. Trevor and his wife, Laurie, have 2 daughters who have been brought up in the Alamance County community.

Beverly Mrs. Beverly Hockenberger

Beverly Hockenberger, PAC was born and raised in neighboring Caswell County. Her undergraduate degree is from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Physician Assistant training is from Duke University. Beverly joined Burlington Pediatrics in 2011 and has over 26 years of experience in pediatrics. In addition to providing care for patients, Beverly is a lactation educator and provides support for our breastfeeding moms. Her personal interests include baking, basketry, stained glass design, as well as camping and skiing with her husband, David, and two children.
